What could have turned out to be a bad morning...

Sooo, let me just say, that this morning was not looking too pretty when it started off. I was 5 minutes late to the metro, making me hit massive morning commuting traffic. And when I say massive...I mean MASSIVE. I really am not cut out to push my way to the escalator...so I go around all the people sprinting from the metro to the 1 escalator (hoping I don't get hit) and make my way to the still crowded stairs. I switched in People's Park, which was especially busy this morning, and luckily got a seat on Line 8 to 四平. I walked out the wrong exit (exit 1 instead of 2), so I had to cross the road (dodging bikers, motorcyclists, cars, vans, and buses) and walk 10 minutes to the bus stop. As I was walking to the bus stop (I was literally 3 minutes away), I saw 910, 61, and another 61 pass me by. haha Which I knew only left the CROWDED 55 bus next. Soo I waited about 7 minutes, then jumped on the overly crowded 55 (people were standing in the door entrance stairs), and was not thrilled at the fact that there was no AC on this bus (usually the buses are pretty good about having AC, but sometimes you get a bad apple). Therefore, after an hour and fifteen minutes of making it to 五角场, I decided to treat myself to a Caramel Machiato at Starbucks. Since then, my day has been splendid.

I am headed off to lunch with one of my sweetest co-workers, Lily. She received her masters in some sort of scientific area (don't ask me...science was not my forte), but she is married and is quite motherly to me. She brings me hard boiled eggs, and offers to cook me lunch all the time. Last week she said she was sick of cooking. Which, Mom, you can relate to. haha See for girls in China, you really don't know how to cook until you are married, then you are expected to pick up the skill/ be good at it/ and enjoy it. Lily is different though from most Chinese girls, and confessed to me that she really dislikes cooking and that she is bad at it. haha So, we are going out to lunch together. I'll let you know how it goes!

再见!
